About
Jessica
Hi! I’m Jessica, writing coach, accountability buddy, and ideas person. If we’re going to work together, you deserve to know who’s in your corner and how I can make your life easier during the college essay process.

“At times it felt like you were figuring out things about me that I didn’t know myself, but would find to be true after thinking about it.” -Kyle D., UC Berkeley ‘27

I believe taking the time to get to know you is an essential part of the process
As someone coming in with fresh eyes, I’m able to identify patterns in your values and interests, draw connections between your experiences and goals, and help you craft a coherent story. To properly highlight the different parts of you, I first need to know the context within which they exist.
I’m not just an editor—I’m here to support you from blank document to final submission
I’ll push you to keep digging even if it seems there’s nothing left to say about an experience, be frank if I feel you’re not delivering, and offer positive counterpoints when you’re getting down on yourself. I’m also open to feedback and check in if what I’m saying and doing is effective.

“The process of revising many times helped the essays that were already solid really settle into their final stages, allowed me to do away with ideas that weren’t working, and try out new ideas until I ultimately found something that I was happy with."
-Andy N., UChicago ‘25
I pursue rigor in the writing process

My Mission
To make what feels like a mandatory process feel more fun and meaningful. To use college essays as an opportunity for self-reflection and self-expression. To send you off with gains no one can take way: greater self-knowledge, more confidence as a writer, and appreciation for your growth. And finally, to set you up for your next adventure in life.
